Enhancement of the solubility of organic dyes in aqueous ionic solvents doped with surfactants

Natural dyes can be poorly water-soluble, and improving their solubility with accurately designed solvents benefit application in most domains. Ionic liquids deep eutectic solvents, systems complex diverse intermolecular interactions, are capable of dissolving compounds different nature polarity. A remarkable increase three natural dyes, indigo, alizarin curcumin, is observed the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethyl sulfate solvent formed by tetrabutylammonium acetate lactic acid. Further addition water surfactants to these media make them more suitable cost-effective for industrial use.
